UAE Weather Alert: Heavy Fog Hits Abu Dhabi and Dubai, Rain Warning Issued for Tuesday

Abu Dhabi: After days of rain in the UAE subsided, the weather changed again in the country. Heavy fog was experienced in the country on Monday. Heavy fog was experienced in various emirates including Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Ras Al Khaimah and Sharjah. Various parts of the state may receive rain again on Tuesday, officials said. A warning has been given. There is no dangerous situation.

The National Meteorological Center has announced red and yellow alerts following heavy fog last day. Abu Dhabi Police had also warned motorists to be careful due to heavy fog. The notification also says to follow the speed limit. As the fog continued for several hours, vehicular traffic became difficult at many places. The speed limit has been reduced to 80 kmph on all major roads in Abu Dhabi. It was informed that visibility will be reduced till 10 am due to fog.

At the same time, it has been raining heavily in the UAE for the past few days. UAE received six months of rain in four days. According to the National Meteorological Center report, Abu Dhabi’s Khatam Al Shakla received the most rainfall on Sunday, with 78 mm. Al Farfar in Fujairah received 77.4 mm of rain, 60 mm in Dubai and 25.4 mm in Al Ain. Average annual rainfall in the UAE is less than 100 mm.

After a few days, after the rain subsided, the cleaning process is in progress. Although some low-lying areas are flooded, there is no disruption to traffic. Warnings by authorities have led to fewer accidents. All flight, bus and water transport services that were canceled on Saturday have been restored after the alert has ended.
