Dubai, United Arab Emirates (CNN) – The preacher of the Sheikh Sultan Bin Zayed First Mosque in the Emirates, Wassim Youssef, commented on the UAE Public Prosecution’s announcement to refer 84 defendants, “most of them from the Muslim Brotherhood,” to the State Security Court, on Saturday.

The UAE Attorney General, Hamad Saif Al Shamsi, announced on Saturday the referral of 84 defendants, “most of whom are members of the terrorist Muslim Brotherhood organization,” to the State Security Court, according to what was published by the official Emirates News Agency.
The agency stated that the defendants, whom it did not name, would be referred to the Abu Dhabi Federal Court of Appeal (State Security Court) “to be tried for the crime of establishing another secret organization for the purpose of committing acts of violence and terrorism on state territory.” Pointing out that the defendants “had concealed this crime and its evidence before being arrested and tried in Case No. (17) of 2013 State Security Penalty.”
