Dubai : The UAE has only a few hours left to be proud of the country. The UAE’s Historic Awesome Mars Mission Hope Probe will enter orbit on Tuesday, February 9 at 7.57pm UAE time. With this, the world will witness a wonderful moment that will make history on earth as well as in space. The UAE authorities are also preparing to welcome the historic mission.
The Hope Probe or Al Amal is one of three spacecraft to land on Mars in the coming days. China’s Tianwen One and U.S. NASA Perseverance spacecraft are expected to enter Mars orbit on February 10 and 18, respectively. The US and China launched the project in 2020. Earlier, the US, India, the former Soviet Union and the European Space Agency had successfully landed in orbit around Mars. With the completion of the mission, the UAE will become the fifth country in the orbit of Mars. Sarah Bint Youssef Al Amiri, Chairperson of the UAE Space Agency, Minister of Advanced Science and Emirates Mars Mission Science Leader, is successfully leading the UAE’s voyage to Mars.
The Hope Probe was launched on July 21, 2020 at 1.58am local time. The historic mission was from the Thanegashima Space Center in Japan. At an average speed of 121,000 kilometers per hour, the Hope Probe spacecraft is expected to enter Mars’ orbit safely. Umran Sharaf, director of the Emirates Mars Mission, said there was great hope for the mission.
The Hope Probe will travel 49.4 million kilometers from Earth to Mars. Other orbiters will begin orbiting at a distance of 2363 km from the surface of Mars. Once in orbit, the spacecraft will orbit Mars for 687 days. Scientists will observe the Mars mission from the Mohammed bin Rashid Space Center in Dubai. The main purpose of the mission is to study the atmosphere on Mars and to prepare a human habitation on Mars in 2117.
