His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, “may God protect him,” and His Excellency Emmanuel Macron, President of the friendly French Republic, discussed the various paths of the strategic partnership that brings the two countries together, and opportunities to expand its horizons in all its fields.
During the meeting, which took place at the Elysee Palace, the French President welcomed His Highness’ visit, expressing his happiness at meeting him again in France, while His Highness expressed his thanks and appreciation to President Emmanuel Macron for the warm reception.
His Highness and the French President reviewed the level of development of the strategic partnership between the two countries in various fields, especially cultural, environmental, climate change, space science and renewable energy, in addition to investment, economy, food security, advanced technology and other aspects that are compatible with the efforts of the two countries and their goals towards achieving sustainable development.
The two sides also discussed regional and international developments and exchanged views on them, stressing that promoting peace, stability and cooperation at the regional and international levels is a common goal for the UAE and France.
The two sides discussed the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP 28), which the UAE will host at the end of this year, stressing that climate action is one of the most important aspects of joint action and that confronting climate change is a major priority for the two countries.
