RIYADH, 9th October, 2018 (WAM) – The UAE participated in the ninth regular meeting of Their Excellencies, Presidents of the Supreme Courts and Courts of Cassation in the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, which was held today, Monday, at the headquarters of the Council’s General Secretariat in Riyadh.
During the meeting, the ideas and visions presented within the framework of joint cooperation between the Supreme Courts and the Courts of Cassation were discussed by presenting the topics included on the meeting’s agenda and taking appropriate decisions on a number of the main topics presented in the meeting’s agenda, and emphasizing the importance of exchanging distinguished judicial principles between the countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council. .
The participants in the meeting also discussed the program of the judicial team’s visits to a number of supreme courts with different judicial systems to learn about the best practices, procedures and judicial experiences in the GCC countries and countries of the world in order to serve the development of the judicial system, and the work mechanism of the Technical Office Committee of the Supreme Courts and Cassation in the GCC countries. After the meeting, a number of distinguished people were honored as part of the Administrative Excellence Award in the Supreme Courts and Cassation in the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, and among them from the Federal Supreme Court, Laila Muhammad Al-Shukaili, Director of the Judicial Services Department, was honored.
