Abu Dhabi, September 22 / WAM / Our national Muay Thai and kickboxing team will participate in the Muay Thai Under-23 World Championship, which will be held in Antalya, Turkey, from September 29 to October 7, under the supervision of the International Muay Thai Federation.
The national team completed its preparations to participate in the tournament through an internal camp held at the headquarters of the Federation, under the supervision of Omar Al Nuaimi, the Federation’s technical director.
The national team delegation will leave for Turkey this Friday evening, while the delegation, which includes 23 players, is headed by Yasser Salem Al-Saadi, a member of the Board of Directors of the UAE Muay Thai and Kickboxing Federation, in addition to the technical staff.
Participation in the tournament will be preceded by a training camp in Turkey, in preparation for weigh-ins and medical examinations.
Tariq Mohammed Al Muhairi, Executive Director of the UAE Muay Thai and Kickboxing Federation, stressed that there are high hopes for the national team players to continue the process of achievements achieved during the past period.
Al Muhairi said that the tournament will contribute to highlighting the achievements of Muay Thai in the Emirates, in light of the support and interest of the wise leadership.
He added: “The UAE Muay Thai and Kickboxing Federation, headed by His Excellency Abdullah Saeed Al Neyadi, attaches great importance to participating in various tournaments and always competing for the top spot, as we have great confidence in the national team players.
