UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs Calls for Immediate Ceasefire in Gaza Strip

Dubai, United Arab Emirates (CNN) – The UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs called for an immediate ceasefire, after the attacks of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) – which it called the “Al-Aqsa Flood” – and Israeli strikes within the Gaza Strip, on Saturday.

In a statement published by the official Emirates News Agency (WAM), the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed its deep concern about the escalation of violence between Israelis and Palestinians, stressing the need to stop the escalation and preserve the lives of civilians, and offered sincere condolences to all the victims who fell as a result of the recent fighting.

The UAE Foreign Ministry stressed the need to exercise the utmost restraint and immediately cease fire to avoid dangerous repercussions.

The ministry said that the United Arab Emirates, as a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council, “calls for the necessity of immediately reactivating the international Quartet to revive the path of Arab-Israeli peace, and urges the international community to advance all efforts made to achieve comprehensive and just peace, and prevent the region from being dragged to levels of New violence, tension and instability.
