UAE launches marine research vessel Jai Wun | UAE launches marine research vessel Jai Wun

Abu Dhabi: The marine research vessel Jai Wun was launched by Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Environment Agency and Ruler of Al Dhafra. It is the first of its kind in the UAE and the most modern ship in West Asia.

Jai Wun also aims to strengthen national and global marine science capacity. Jai Wun will address the consequences of climate change by assessing and monitoring the marine environment.

Jai Wun will also monitor marine biodiversity. Jai Wun’s operational objective is to become a reliable platform in the field of marine research in the country.

Minister of Defense and Vice Chairman of the Environment Agency Board of Directors, Mohammed bin Ahmed Al Bowardi, Minister of Climate Change and Environment, Maryam bint Mohammed Almeiri, Chairman of the Community Development Department, Dr. Mugheer Khamis Al Khalili, City and Transport Department Chairman Falah Mohammed Al Ahbabi, Abu Dhabi Police Commander in Chief Staff Major General Pilot Faris Khalaf Al Mazrouei, Abu Dhabi Environment Agency Managing Director Razan Khalifa Al Mubarak, ADNOC Offshore CEO Ahmed Saqr Al Suwaidi and concerned.
