UAE Jiu-Jitsu Team Shines at World Championship in Greece: 9 Medals Including 2 Golds!

Our national jiu-jitsu team, with the support of Mubadala Investment Company, succeeded in winning two more bronze medals at the end of the adult division competitions at the World Jiu-Jitsu Championship in Greece, bringing the total number of medals to 9 medals, with 2 gold, 3 silver, and 4 bronze medals.

Yesterday’s competitions saw the participation of Shamsa Al-Amiri and Al-Anoud Al-Hosani, weighing 57 kg, and Shama Al-Kalbani, weighing 63 kg, in the women’s category, and Mahdi Al-Awlaki, Sultan Al -Hosani, weighing 77 kg, and Saeed Al-Kubaisi, weighing 85 kg, in the men’s category.

Mahdi Al-Awlaki succeeded in winning a bronze medal in the 77 kg weight category, while his colleague Saeed Al Kubaisi succeeded in winning a bronze medal in the 85 kg weight category.

Mubarak Saleh Al Menhali, Director of the Technical Department at the Emirates Jiu-Jitsu Federation, said: “We have achieved a lot of gains, especially in terms of the new talents that have emerged and performed well, especially because this tournament is considered one of the strongest tournaments in the world, which provides unique opportunities for our players to experience and get to know the best international players.”

Mahdi Al-Awlaki said, “I am proud to receive the bronze medal in this important global competition, which brings together elite jiu-jitsu players from all over the world, the competition was very strong, and my desire does not stop at the bronze medal, and my goal is always the gold medal, which I will try to win in the upcoming participants.”
