Action to ensure law and order in UAE as part of Eid Al Fitr celebrations. The Public Prosecution’s Criminal Information Center has released the penalties for the illegal fireworks trade. Such offenses are punishable by imprisonment of not less than one year and a fine of not less than Dh100,000. The punishment will be imposed on anyone who trades, imports, exports and manufactures fireworks from the country without a license.
No sale or purchase of firecrackers shall be permitted except after obtaining a license or permit from the licensing authority or concerned body. Bursting of firecrackers has also been banned in the country. Such restrictions are imposed for public safety. Many accidents occur every year especially among children due to the prevalence of crackers.
