UAE Government Participates in GCC Meeting on Civil Service and Human Resources Development

Muscat, September 20 / WAM / The UAE government participated in the nineteenth meeting of ministers and heads of civil service and administrative development agencies in the member states of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf, which was held in the Omani capital, Muscat, in the presence of His Excellency Jassim Al Budawi, Secretary-General of the Council.
The state delegation was headed by Her Excellency Ohoud bint Khalfan Al Roumi, Minister of State for Government Development and the Future and President of the Federal Authority for Government Human Resources, and included Her Excellency Laila Obaid Al Suwaidi, Acting Director General of the Authority, and His Excellency Ibrahim Fikri, Executive Director of the Support Services Sector.
Her Excellency Ohoud bint Khalfan Al Roumi stressed the importance of the meeting’s outcomes to implement the directives of the leadership of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries to keep pace with the accelerating global changes in the areas of civil service and human resources, enhance productivity and quality of life in the work environment, and develop, attract and retain government talent.
Her Excellency indicated that the meeting is a platform that enhances joint Gulf action and serves coordination and cooperation efforts among member states, as it integrates efforts in the field of developing human capital and exchanging experiences and best practices, stressing the UAE government’s keenness to develop partnership horizons to create a distinguished talent system. And empowering Gulf human capital, to drive progress and prosperity in the region.
The meeting discussed the GCC strategy in the field of civil service and human resources development 2021-2025, unifying prices for purchasing licenses for human resources systems in GCC countries, and the decisions of the Financial and Economic Cooperation Committee regarding the challenges facing the common Gulf market in the field of government work.

On a related level, Her Excellency Ohoud bint Khalfan Al Roumi participated in the ceremony honoring Gulf competencies with the Cooperation Council Medal for Civil Service and Administrative Development, which is awarded to people who have provided great services in their professional careers in the field of civil service and administrative development and have contributed effectively to the development of human resources and government work in the GCC countries.

Five Emirati government leaders were awarded the Council of Cooperation Medal for Civil Service and Administrative Development. They are His Excellency Tariq Hilal Lootah, Undersecretary of the Ministry of State for Federal National Council Affairs, His Excellency Khalid Abdul Rahim Al Harmoudi, Assistant Secretary-General for Cabinet Affairs Support in the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers, His Excellency Maryam Mohammed Al Amiri, Assistant Undersecretary for the Government Financial Management Sector in the Ministry of Finance, and His Excellency Engineer Mohammed Ibrahim Al Zarouni, Deputy Director General of the Information and Digital Government Sector at the Communications and Digital Government Regulatory Authority, and His Excellency Brigadier General Nasser Khadem Al Kaabi, Director of the General Department of Happiness at the Ministry of Interior.
