UAE Dominates Gulf Youth Games “Emirates 2024” with Record-Breaking 37 Medals in a Single Day

The UAE national teams continued their stellar results in the first Gulf Youth Games “Emirates 2024”, where they recorded the highest number of medals in a single day, on the 12th day, which saw the crowning of champions and the UAE champion with 37 new medals, a number that has not been recorded since the tournament’s 16 current competitions began. The UAE strengthened its lead in the overall championship standings with 231 medals, including 73 gold.

It was remarkable for the excellence of the karate team, which won 18 medals, including five gold medals that came in the “Individual Kumite” category for women, through Malak Al-Hajj in the weight under -48 kg, Khadija Al-Jasmi in the weight under 53 kg, Mahra Al-Balushi in the weight under 59 kg, and Shamma Al-Ketbi In the category under 66 kg, and in the category “Individual Kumite” for juniors, Rashid Salem won the gold in the under weight 61 kg.

The judo team showed up strongly at the start of the competitions, the day before yesterday, with four medals, including Saif Al Hammadi’s gold in the under 60 kg weight. The competitions will be held in the “Mubadala” hall Arena” in Zayed Sports City in Abu Dhabi. The game also saw the Saudi team excel with three medals, including two golds, and Kuwait with four medals, including one gold. The UAE won two medals (gold and silver) in cycling, which concluded its competitions the day before yesterday, on the cycling track on Al Hudayriat Island in Abu Dhabi.

The team’s rider, Hareb Khamis, won gold in the individual youth time trial race, while his teammate Khaled Al Nuaimi took second place and a silver medal, while Bahraini Mahdi Hassan Jawad won the bronze.

The bow and arrow team shone with three gold medals in the competitions held at the Sharjah Police Club, and they all came in the teams, waiting for the stars of the team to climb the podiums in the respective competitions half and mixed.
