The UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs said on Friday that it is monitoring the health condition of a citizen and his wife who were injured following a shooting incident in the Czech Republic, which killed 14 people on Thursday.
The Ministry published a statement, saying: “The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is following up on the health situation of the Emirati citizen and his wife who were injured in the Czech Republic following the shooting incident that occurred yesterday in the capital, Prague.”
The UAE Foreign Ministry affirmed its “keenness to provide full support and health care to the injured, in coordination with the Czech authorities and with the presence of a team from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.”

Social media pioneers circulated a poignant picture showing the attempt of a number of students at the prestigious Charles University in the Czech capital, Prague, trying to save their lives during a mass shooting incident that claimed the lives of at least 14 people.
Reuters explained that the 24-year-old shooter was killed inside the university building, and the police indicated that “he may have committed suicide or been killed by police bullets.”
“As of today, we will begin implementing nationwide preventive measures regarding vulnerable targets and schools,” the police said on the X platform.
She added: “We have no information about any concrete threat… This is a sign of our presence and readiness.”
The police said on Thursday that the perpetrator of the attack, who was in possession of a licensed rifle and had no criminal record, was a student at the Faculty of Arts at Charles University, noting that he killed his father in a house outside the capital, before coming to the city.
The police received information about his intention to commit suicide, and were looking for him in another building at the university where he was supposed to attend a lecture.
But the shooter headed instead to the main building of the Faculty of Arts, which is not far from a tourist attraction.
