The governments of the UAE and the Republic of Kenya launched a new partnership to exchange knowledge and share experiences in the areas of management and development of government work, within the framework of a memorandum of understanding signed in the presence of Sheikh Shakhbut bin Nahyan. The memorandum of understanding was signed by Maryam bint Ahmed Al Hammadi, Minister of State and Secretary-General of the Council of Ministers, and Musalia Mudavadi, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Settlements of Kenya.
Institutional capabilities
The partnership aims to strengthen joint efforts and cooperation in building institutional capacities, the management process in the field of government work development, and other areas of common interest. While Musalia Mudavadi emphasized the depth of the distinguished relationship between the Republic of Kenya and the United Arab Emirates, noting that the UAE has provided more than 30,000 job opportunities to Kenyan nationals, and affirming Kenya’s commitment to strengthen relations between the two friendly countries, he said. He said that his visit to the UAE, and the signing of Agreements and the launch of new partnerships confirm the strength of the growing relationship between the two countries, which will strengthen efforts to move relations forward, in the way that contributes to building opportunities and providing skills that are in the interest of both peoples.
Eight critical areas
Abdullah Nasser Lootah, Deputy Minister of Cabinet Affairs for Competitiveness and Knowledge Exchange, confirmed that the new partnership between the governments of the UAE and Kenya in the areas of government modernization shows the positive impact of the government’s information exchange program initiatives, and inter- translation its ongoing effort to expand partnerships and strengthen cooperation frameworks with governments across the world’s continents.
He said that the partnership will cover 8 vital areas, which are more closely related to the vision of the governments of the two countries in the future, and through which knowledge will be transferred and successful experiences will be exchanged in being improving the work of the government, and increasing its share. ready for future changes and requirements.
The memorandum of understanding covers various areas, including the development of government services to reach all segments of customers through proactive initiatives and reputable services, and capacity building of government services staff responsible for planning and provision of services.
The areas of cooperation also cover the national agenda which allows both parties to enrich their experience in performance management, review and improve the national development plan to provide a vision for the future to achieve, and ensure full compatibility between government agencies best practices in spreading a culture of quality and excellence, and building capacities to qualify government change makers who are able to play a part take part in promoting innovation and achieving achievements and successes.
Entrepreneurship
Areas of partnership include collaboration in building government competitiveness in the areas of general competitiveness, entrepreneurship, wealth, innovation, and technology, and exchanging best practices in competitiveness the world, as well as human resource development.
Cooperation will also cover programming skills, improving e-government knowledge for customers, and restructuring internal operational systems, as well as areas of common interest, such as gender balance, renewable energy , youth, public policy development, entrepreneurship promotion, and sustainable economic development. .
