Akio Isumata, the Japanese ambassador to the country, confirmed that the UAE and Japan have a close historical and strategic partnership that spans more than five decades and covers all fields, pointing out that the two friendly countries celebrated last year the fiftieth anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between them and look forward to achieving more horizons of cooperation during the next fifty years.

He added that the joint statement on climate action will lead global efforts in carbon removal and support the success of the upcoming COP28, which the UAE will host this year at Expo Dubai, stressing that the UAE and Japan have a common goal of achieving climate neutrality in 2050, and fruitful and promising cooperation in this regard. The field of renewable energy seeks to strengthen and deepen it during the coming period.
Ambassador Akio Isumata stated that the visit of the Japanese Prime Minister to Abu Dhabi will herald the strengthening of cooperation between the two countries in a variety of fields, which began at the beginning of this year, as the two countries launched a new phase of bilateral relations.
