Dubai, June 2, WAM / The UAE Olympic Committee and a Bahraini delegation from the Executive Committee of the School Games 2024 discussed ways of joint cooperation to make the global event a success and bring it out in the best way, as the Kingdom seeks to organize and host the largest school games in history, especially as it enjoys the patronage of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, sister Kingdom of Bahrain.

This came during the meeting of Mohammed bin Darwish, Executive Director of the UAE Olympic Committee, with the Bahraini delegation at the committee’s headquarters in Dubai today, headed by Ishaq Abdullah Ishaq, Chairman of the Executive Committee for the session, who reviewed the latest preparations of the Kingdom of Bahrain to organize the global event.

More than 5,000 male and female students are expected to participate in an event that is the largest and most important in the history of Bahraini sports.

The meeting witnessed an exchange of ideas within the framework of joint cooperation between the Executive Committee and the UAE Olympic Committee, with the aim of promoting the tournament and contributing to its success at all levels.

Ishaq praised the work of the UAE Olympic Committee and the great role it plays in developing sports and extending a helping hand to its brothers in the Arab Gulf countries. In the history of school sports.

He stressed that hosting the tournament will have positive repercussions on the sports and tourism sector in the Kingdom of Bahrain, and a true translation of the Kingdom’s high capabilities in hosting various international sporting events, in a way that enhances the Kingdom’s image and its components in organizing sporting events.
The International School Games will be held over a period of 10 days, during the month of October 2024, with the participation of 80 countries and 5,000 students, to compete in 25 different sports, including swimming, gymnastics, triple basketball, fencing, boxing, taekwondo, wrestling, karate, judo, table tennis, badminton, tennis, handball and volleyball. Chess, Javelin, Darts, Paralympic Games, Judo, Athletics, Rhythmic Gymnastics, Artistic Gymnastics and Aerobics.

14 sites have been allocated to hold this course with its specialized programmes.
