The Latvian U23 women’s and men’s teams will start in the 4th, 5th and 6th stages of the U23 Nations Cup in Bucharest from August 20 to 22.
In the fourth stage on Friday, the Latvian men’s team (Reinis Avotiņš, Gustavs Kampuss, Toms Ķēdis and Niks Niklāvs Višņevičs) beat the Greek team in the group tournament with 21:17, but lost to the Romanian basketball players with 19:20 and took the 3rd place.
The Latvian women’s team – Anete Blūma, Raivita Koreņika, Laura Okuņeva and Janeta Rozentāle) defeated the Greek team with 20: 8 and Belarus with 18:14. In the final game, a loss to the best unit of group A, the winners of the first three stages of the Lithuanian U23 team.
On Saturday, in the 5th stage tournament, the Latvian men’s team will play in the group with Ukraine (16:25) and Belarus (19:45). Final game at 21:35
The Latvian women’s team will play in the group with Greece (18:30) and Romania (20:10). Final game at 21:10.
