Latvian U21 national team midfielder Alexei Savelyev has become a player of the Italian third league football club “Mantova 1911”, the club of the third strongest league of Italy C series reports on Monday on its website.
The Mantova 1911 statement states that the team has acquired the rights to Saveljev, the midfielder of the A-series club Verona “Hellas”.
The club counts that Saveļjevs, who was born in Riga in 1999, went on the field 59 times as a member of the “Hellas” youth team in three seasons, during this time scoring two goals and standing out three times with productive passes.
In January of this year, on the basis of a lease agreement, he entered the C-series unit “Rende”, in which he played six games, scoring one goal.
“Mantova 1911 ″ greets Saveljeva in the white-red family, wishing him the best performance personally and for the team,” the statement said.
The footballer spent three years in the Italian A-series football team system, in the first year on the lease from Marijampole “Švyturis”.
Saveļjevs has played 15 games in the Latvian U21 team without scoring a goal. He also took part in both matches in the beginning of September in the qualifying tournament of the European U21 Championship against the teams of Serbia (2: 2) and Estonia (0: 0).
