A point for the U21s of SSV Jahn: After a 2-0 lead, the game against DJK Ammerthal on Saturday afternoon ended 2-2.
Jahn’s U21s got into the game well, dominated the action and had a first chance with a long-range shot from Christian Schmidt. Through captain Julian Ziegler, the young Jahnelf deservedly took the lead after about half an hour (32nd). Just five minutes later, Ziegler even made it 2-0 (37′). Immediately before the break, however, the guests reduced the lead to 2:1 after a corner and thus kept the game open.
“We were very committed and determined in the second half as well.”, said coach Christoph Jank. Two goals were disallowed for handball and offside. And so Ammerthal even managed to equalize in the closing stages. A cross from Tim Sulmer slipped and flew into the Jahn goal to make it 2:2. “Unfortunately, it was only enough for a draw in the end. The team performance was excellent. We defended very well in tackles, created a lot of scoring chances and hardly let the opponent allow anything.”so Jank’s conclusion.
