Investing.com – U.S. equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the , and sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in New York, it fell 1.08%, hitting a new low in nearly one month, while the index fell 1.64%, while the index fell 1.82%.
The best performers of the session were UnitedHealth Group Inc (NYSE: ), which rose 1.83% or 9.01 points to trade at 501.14 at the close. Meanwhile, The Walt Disney Company (NYSE: ) added 0.21% (0.17 points) to end at 82.73; Intel Corporation (NASDAQ: ) fell 0.12% (0.04 points) to 34.65 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Cisco Systems Inc (NASDAQ:), which fell 3.89% or 2.16 points to trade at 53.34 at the close. The Dow Chemical Company (NYSE: ) fell 2.78% or 1.46 points to end at 51.00 and Nike (NYSE: ) fell 2.61% or 2.45 points to 91.59.
The top performers on the S&P 500 were FedEx Corp (NYSE: ), which rose 4.52% to end at 261.85; Fox Corp Class A (NASDAQ: ) rose 3.18% to close at 32.14; Fox Corp Class B (NASDAQ: ) 🙂 rose 2.99% to close at 29.59.
The worst-performing stocks were Alexandria Real Estate Holdings Ltd. (NYSE:), which ultimately fell 8.29% to close at 102.93 in late trading; Boston Properties (NYSE:), which fell 7.14% to close at 60.88; in addition, Caesars Entertainment (NASDAQ:) fell 5.30 %, the closing price was 47.51.
The best performers on the Nasdaq Composite were MSP Recovery Inc (NASDAQ:), which rose 54.68% to end at 0.24; Near Intelligence Inc (NASDAQ:), which rose 40.53% to close at 0.29; Solowin Holdings Ltd ( NASDAQ:) rose 35.00% to close at 4.05.
The worst performing stocks were Travere Therapeutics Inc (NASDAQ:) which ultimately fell 40.68% to close at 7.64 in late trade; Cheche Group Inc (NASDAQ:) which fell by 40.60% to close at 14.85; in addition, Seelos Therapeutics Inc (NASDAQ:) which fell by 37.73 %, with a closing price of 0.19.

At the same time, 55 stocks did not rise or fall, basically the same; 2,473 stocks on the Nasdaq Stock Exchange closed down, and 1,007 stocks rose. The price of the gold futures December options contract fell 1.37% (26.95 points) to $1,940.15. For the rest of the futures, the price of WTI crude oil futures contract for November delivery fell by 0.11% (0.10 points), quoted at $89.56, while the November London Brent crude oil futures contract fell by 0.32% (0.30), trading at $93.23.
EUR/USD did not rise or fall by 0.00%, with an exchange rate of 1.07; at the same time, USD/JPY fell by 0.56%, quoted at 147.50.
U.S. dollar index futures rose 0.27% to trade at 105.07.
