According to the 10th Regional Coast Guard Headquarters, at around 10:45 a.m. today, the 15th, the local response headquarters of the police and fire department located in Yakushima Town said, “Two divers who were searching in connection with the Osprey crash were reported.” There was information that he was missing.
Two divers belonging to the U.S. military are missing, and Jukan Headquarters is searching for them with helicopters and patrol boats.
According to Jukan, the two divers were found on the surface of the water at around 11:40 a.m. and were rescued safely.
The two people were not injured, and there are no life-threatening injuries.
The bodies of seven of the eight people on board were recovered from the Osprey crash that occurred off the coast of Yakushima on the 29th of last month. Near the scene, divers from the U.S. military and Self-Defense Forces continued to search for the remaining person.
