WASHINGTON (Reuters) – Growth in the U.S. economy in the first quarter has been revised upwards and now shows a slightly less pronounced slowdown compared to the previous three months.

GDP rose 1.3% at an annualized rate, the second estimate of gross domestic product (GDP) published by the Commerce Department showed on Thursday, against +1.1% in the first estimate. Economists polled by Reuters had expected the figure unchanged.

In the quarter from October to December, US growth was 2.6%.
