U.S. Congress Approves Short-Term Spending Bill to Prevent Government Shutdown

China News Service, October 1 (Xinhua) According to comprehensive US media reports, on the evening of September 30, local time, the US Senate passed a short-term spending bill by a vote of 88 to 9 to provide funds for the US government until November 17, thereby avoiding “close the door”.

Not long ago, the bill “passed” in the House of Representatives with a vote of 335 to 91. The bill provides the federal government with 45 days of short-term spending in the hope that the two parties can reach a long-term spending bill during this period. In addition, the short-term spending bill included natural disaster relief funding requested by the White House at the last minute, but did not include additional aid to Ukraine and increased border security.

According to CNN, a White House official said that US President Biden is currently waiting at the White House and will sign the bill.
