Monday Oct 2, 2023 Elderly Week is inaugurated by U Pratibha MLA at district level
Under the leadership of Alappuzha Social Justice Department, Pathiyur Govt. U Pratibha MLA inaugurated the International Aging Week held in the high school. U Pratibha informed that she will use the MLA funds to buy a vehicle for the day home ‘Sayamprabha Homi’ in Pathiyur. MLA honored the elderly. Entertainment and art competitions were also held in old age homes and Sayamprabha homes. A medical camp will be conducted in the Sayamprabha homes of Mannancheri, Pattanakkad, Vallikunnam, Arur, Pathiyur and Bharnikav panchayats from 10 am to 1 am on the 4th with the participation of the health department. A radio chat show, social media reels, awareness raising and geriatric pledge will also be conducted in educational institutions in association with media village involving experts in the field of geriatric care. Mutukulam Kalavilasini Library veteran paid tribute to K Bhaskaran at Mutukulam South Preethalaya. Library President Thomas Varghese and Secretary SK Pillai spoke. Thankammapillai was honored at Kuzhuvel under the auspices of Mutukulam Vadak Brothers Library and Reading Room. Library president K Vijayakumar wore Ponnada. Kerala State Service Pensioners Union Mutukulam Block Committee celebrated World Old Age Day. Mutukulam Panchayat President KV Jyotiprabha inaugurated the event. Union Block Committee President Prof. SK Govindankutty Karanwar presided. Muttam Santhvanam Charitable Society’s Old Age Day Celebration ‘Punya Sayantanam’ was inaugurated by Minister P Prasad.
