The draw for the U-20 World Cup, which was drawn on Friday in Zurich, left the Arab representatives of Iraq and Tunisia in one group, along with Uruguay and England.
Argentina, the host country that replaced Indonesia, fell into a very easy group, because it will face relatively unknown teams, Uzbekistan, Guatemala and New Zealand. The same applies to France, which will face South Korea, Gambia and Honduras.
Italy came with Brazil in one group, which also included Nigeria and the Dominican Republic.
Argentina won the title six times, which is a record in the history of the tournament that it previously organized in 2001.
Ironically, the Argentina under-20 national team, coached by former “Albi Celeste” star Javier Mascherano, failed to qualify for the finals, but will now participate as a host country after the International Federation agreed to organize the World Cup in Argentina instead of Indonesia.
The top two of each group, in addition to the four best third-placed teams, qualify for the final price.
The finals will be held from May 20th to June 11th.
Here’s the draw
Group A: Argentina, Uzbekistan, Guatemala, New Zealand.
Group B: United States, Ecuador, Fiji, Slovakia.
Group C: Senegal, Japan, Israel, Colombia.
Group D: Italy, Brazil, Nigeria, Dominican Republic.
Group E: Uruguay, Iraq, England, Tunisia.
Group F: France, South Korea, Gambia, Honduras.
