Indonesian U-19 National Team will carry out a trial against Persija Jakarta, Friday (24/6/2022). Three descendant players will also be revealed in the match later.
This trial is planned to be held at the Madya Stadium and prepared as preparation for the 2022 AFF U-19 Cup. This tournament will be held on 2-15 July at Madya Stadium, Jakarta and Patriot Chandrabhaga Stadium, Bekasi City.
The U-19 National Team Training Center (TC) was held for the first time since Tuesday (21/6). There were 30 players called up, plus three descendant players taking part namely Kai Boham, Jim Croqueday Max Christopher.
“So tomorrow there will be a test, so today’s training is light, focusing on tactics and conditions. Tomorrow the trial will be against Persija Jakarta, but not (Persija) the core team,” said U-19 coach Shin Tae-yong after leading training at the Stadium Madya, Thursday (23/6).
“Three lineage players so far look good, work hard, have to try out the match tomorrow, then we can see what the assessment is like,” he added.
It is possible that Persija will field their young squad that had appeared in the first two matches of the 2022 President’s Cup. The task of the young players in the President’s Cup has been completed, the next two Persija matches will rely on the main players.
The trial against Persija will also be the last activity of the U-19 National Team in Jakarta. After this, the U-19 National Team will move to Bekasi to play AFF U-19 Cup.
“Until now I have not confirmed the final squad because we will only see the performance of the players, maybe on the 30th we can only determine what kind of core 23 players,” he said. Shin Tae-yong.
The U-19 national team is in Group A with Vietnam, Thailand, the Philippines, Myanmar and Brunei Darussalam. Shin Tae-yong himself targets his team to win at home.
