Indonesian President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) mention the title of champion AFF U-16 Cup 2022 captured Indonesian National Team U-16 as a gift for Indonesia’s 77th independence day.
Jokowi congratulated the U-16 Indonesian National Team for winning the 2022 AFF U-16 Cup after beating Vietnam 1-0 in the final at Maguwoharjo Stadium, Friday (12/8).
“Congratulations to the U16 football team for presenting the 2022 AFF U16 Cup title by beating Vietnam 1-0 in the final at Maguwoharjo Stadium, Yogyakarta,” Jokowi wrote on his Twitter account.

“This 2022 AFF U16 Cup champion title is a gift for the Independence Day,” Jokowi continued.
Midfielder Muhammad Kafiatur Rizky decided Indonesia’s victory over Vietnam in the 2022 AFF U-16 Cup final after scoring a beautiful goal in the first half injury time.
“Congratulations to the Garuda Asia team. The 2022 AFF U16 Cup title is really proud of all the people who are preparing to welcome the Independence Day celebrations,” Jokowi wrote via Instagram.
This is the second AFF U-16 Cup title for the Garuda Asia Squad. Previously, the U-16 Indonesian National Team successfully won the trophy in 2018 when it hosted.
Indonesia matched the achievements of Malaysia, Myanmar and Australia, which had already won two AFF U-16 Cup titles. While Thailand and Vietnam are still the countries with the most trophies of this kind with three wins.
