His compatriot Dillian Whyte will be the obligatory challenger of the British boxer Tyson Fury in the fight for the WBC championship belt. Ordered by the World Boxing Council, both sides have 30 days to agree on a duel.

It will probably take place in February or March next year and the potential venues are Cardiff in Wales and Manchester in England. “If the two teams involved agree, it will be Whyt’s first ever world title contest.” English sources state.

Fury retained the WBC Championship belt with his October triumph over American Deontay Wilder. He then had to prepare for a duel with the Ukrainian Olekandr Usyk, who after the triumph over another British Anthony Joshua won the belts of the WBA, IBF, WBO and IBO. However, Joshua took advantage of the retaliation clause against Usyk, so Whyte became a mandatory challenger to Fury. The retaliation between Joshua and Usyk should take place in early 2022.

The more than two-meter Fury field has a balance of 31 victories and one draw in the professional ring, of which it knocked out its opponents 22 times. A thirty-three-year-old native of Whytenshawe in South Manchester last month said mockingly that his potential challenger Whyte would be his ideal rival.

“If we really meet in the ring, I have an easy fight. He has heavy legs and it will be an ideal candidate for defeat. If they make him a mandatory candidate, let him get ready for a fight.” Fury stated for iFL TV, citing ESPN.
