Typhoon No. 6 is moving north over the sea west of Kyushu, and Kagoshima Prefecture is expected to exit the storm zone soon.

In the prefecture, the total amount of rainfall since the beginning of the fall has exceeded three times that of an average month in August, raising the risk of landslide disasters.

Typhoon No. 6 is believed to be near Goto City, Nagasaki Prefecture at 1:00 am on the 10th, and is moving north at a speed of 15 kilometers per hour.

The central air pressure is 975 hectopascals, and the maximum instantaneous wind speed is 40 meters.

Kagoshima Prefecture is expected to leave the area with winds of 25 meters or more soon, and the mainland of the prefecture, the Tanegashima and Yakushima regions, and parts of Toshima Village are in strong winds with winds of 15 meters or more.

The maximum instantaneous wind speed expected on the 10th is 35 meters in the Satsuma, Osumi, Tanegashima and Yakushima regions, and the waves are expected to reach 5 meters with swells throughout the prefecture.

Developed rain clouds will flow into the Satsuma and Osumi regions, and there is a risk of very heavy rain of 50 mm per hour accompanied by localized thunder until early afternoon on the 10th.

In the Satsuma and Osumi regions, up to 150mm of rain is expected in 24 hours until midnight on the 11th.

A linear rain belt is likely to occur in southern Kyushu, and if it does occur, there is a risk of even more rainfall.

The total rainfall for the six days from the beginning of the fall on the 3rd of this month was 799 mm in Koseda, Yakushima-cho, and 711 mm in Tashiro, Kinie-cho.

Strict vigilance against landslide disasters is required.
