Typhoon No. 2 ‘Mawar’ northbound… Korea Meteorological Administration “Flexible course”

Today (20th) at around 3:00 pm, Typhoon No. 2 ‘Mawar’ occurred off the coast of Guam.

Typhoon ‘Mawar’ will move north to the sea about 560 km northwest of Guam on the 25th, and it is expected to pass through high-temperature waters and develop into a very strong grade with a maximum wind speed of 45 m/s.

The Korea Meteorological Administration said that the course is still flexible as it is in the early stages of the outbreak, and it is too early to determine whether it will affect Korea.

There have been three typhoons that have affected Korea in May, and the most recent was Typhoon No. 4 ‘Linpa’ in 2003.

Meanwhile, Typhoon ‘Mawar’ is a name submitted by Malaysia and means rose.
