Typhoon Kanun No. 6 is expected to reach the sea near Busan at dawn on Thursday, the 10th.

Kanun is currently moving northeastward, maintaining a strong force with a central pressure of 970 hectopascals and a maximum wind speed of 35 meters per second in the sea about 320 km northeast of Okinawa, Japan.

According to the Korea Meteorological Administration, Kanun starts moving northwest from this afternoon and approaches our sea from the sea near Kagoshima, southern Kyushu, Japan, after early morning tomorrow.

At dawn the day after tomorrow, after passing the sea about 130 km southwest of Kagoshima, it was predicted that it would reach the sea about 180 km south-southwest of Busan on the morning of the 10th.

At this time, the maximum wind speed of Kanun will maintain a very strong force at 35 meters per second, and it will be in the ‘strong wind radius’ with strong winds of 15 meters per second to the inland southern region.

Kanun is expected to land on land about 150 km northwest of Gangneung on the morning of Friday the 11th, and at this time, the Korea Meteorological Administration predicted that strong winds of 24 meters per second could blow trees that could be uprooted.

In addition, areas within 250 km of the surrounding area are within the radius of strong winds, and there is a possibility that a typhoon warning may take effect.

Due to the indirect influence of the typhoon, rain will begin the day after tomorrow in the southern regions such as the Gyeongsang region and Jeju Island, and will gradually spread nationwide from the morning.

A storm warning has already been issued in the Southern Sea, where waves of up to 5 meters are predicted today.

As the typhoon approaches, special attention is required as swells continue to flow in.

Ahead of Typhoon Kanun north, the Ministry of Public Administration and Security inspected the control system for vulnerable facilities such as underpasses and requested safety measures by examining vulnerable areas such as areas affected by torrential rain.
