A manager stripped of his dignity tries to break free from blind corporate obedience to his boss, a policeman’s wife – a biologist who survived the disaster – wants to rebuild her relationship with her husband who questions her return, and a member of a cult is tasked with finding a person with the power to resurrect the dead. The latest film by Yorgos Lanthimos, filled with humor and absurdity, can be read on many levels – one of them is human helplessness in the face of chance and fate.
