On Thursday, the league council decided to take three points from HC Slovan Bratislava, which did not follow the rule of two young players in the 1st round match against Dukla Trenčín (4: 1) and placed an older hockey player in their guaranteed place.
The Bratislava club first reacted to the whole situation, which also provoked the reaction of Trenčín. “HK Dukla Trenčín’s original intention was not to comment on this issue at all. Unfortunately, the events of the last few days forced us to react to both the decision of the League Council and HC Slovan Bratislava, ” it is introduced at the beginning of the opinion.
“We decided to file an official objection just before the 72-hour limit expired, when we received information that the decision would be made strangely after a week. We are no longer identified in principle with the opinion of the League Council. If someone was sanctioned for an unjustified advantage, then logically the other party was disadvantaged.
We have commented on the composition of the League Council several times. With the participation of only one representative of the clubs, any decision is only in the hands of the representatives of SZĽH. Coincidentally, our club was the subject of such mistakes for the second time in a short time (see last year’s de facto identical problem with Michalovce). We don’t want to win at the green table, we want to win in the spirit of fair play, ” Dukla Trenčín encounters the fact that the League Council took three points from Slovan, but did not comply with their proposal and did not credit them to Dukla’s account.

We expected a boy’s confession of a mistake in the internal communication of the club. On the contrary, the opinion was full of misinformation. At the meeting of all 12 clubs of the Extraliga in Modra on June 28, 2021, where Slovan was represented by 2 shareholders of the club, Mr. Šatan proposed a change from last year to the obligation to deploy 2 players in the U20 category to support the national team at the U20 World Cup. All clubs, including Slavs, unequivocally agreed.
Formal approval took place at the SZĽH Executive Committee and all representatives of the clubs were subsequently informed. Five representatives of the club were informed on behalf of Slovan, and in addition, the coach of the national team under 20, Mr. Podkonický, is one of the assistants of HC Slovan Bratislava, ” it is stated in the opinion that Slovan should have known about the changes in the rules before he himself claims.
Representatives of Dukla Trenčín also drew attention to the conflict between Slovan and the Association of Professional Hockey Clubs (APHK) and questioned Slovan’s appeal against the decision.
“We are also sorry that the APHK is constantly involved in this issue, as the Extraliga is managed exclusively by SZĽH. We have intercepted the information that Slovan plans to appeal against the decision of the League Council and VV should subsequently decide. We ask, what else is to be decided? The rules are clear to everyone. The decision of the League Council in this form provides a precedent for possible speculation of clubs, which may cause absurd situations, which we will not discuss further. “
