Tyler Skaggs’ family sues the Angels

1is July 2019, former Los Angeles Angels pitcher Tyler Skaggs was found dead in a hotel room in Southlake, Texas. The medical examiner then wrote in his report that the death of the 27-year-old was due to poisoning with a mixture of ethanol, fentanyl and oxycodone. Skaggs had subsequently choked on his sleep.

Now the Skaggs family filed a lawsuit against the California squad on Tuesday morning in Los Angeles County Superior Court. This process was initiated on behalf of the gunner’s widow.

Meanwhile, parents Darrell and Debbie have filed a lawsuit in Tarrant County District Court in Texas.

Negligence complaints are directed directly to former Director of Communications Eric Kay and Vice President of Communications Tim Mead.

Kay was alleged to have a history of drug addiction and allegedly supplied drugs to Skaggs, as well as other players on the team. A joint investigation by Southlake Police and the Drug Enforcement Administration led to Kay’s arrest last August.

At this time, the financial details of the lawsuit are not known. And until now, the Angels have consistently denied any involvement in their pitcher’s tragic death.
