“Michigan” is being mastered more and more across the hockey planet, so much so that young sensations are now enjoying playing it successfully in the best leagues in the world. We had a convincing example of this on Saturday.
Andrei Svechnikov kind of revived the fashion by scoring the first such goal in the history of the National Hockey League in 2019. Many have followed him around the world since.

The last two to have achieved the feat are the young Jacob Perreault and Matvei Michkov. The first is the son of former Montreal Canadiens Yanic Perreault and a brilliant Anaheim Ducks prospect. The second is a real Russian hockey prodigy, a magician already playing at 16 in the KHL.
Perreault achieved this with the San Diego Gulls (led by Joel Bouchard) in the American League, while Michkov employed the maneuver in a Karjala Cup game with his national team.
