The driver of the car, a 19-year-old man from the municipality of Westerveld, was seriously injured, as was an 18-year-old passenger from the same municipality. Another 16-year-old girl was injured. They have been taken to hospital.

Several occupants were trapped after the accident, police said. In addition to the police and ambulances, the fire brigade and a trauma helicopter also came to the site of the accident. Police are investigating how the accident could have happened. The road is still closed.
