Two miners who were isolated in an accident in a zinc mine in Bonghwa-gun, Gyeongsangbuk-do, were rescued on the night of the 4th.
Rescue authorities reported that the team leader, Park (62) and the assistant worker, Park (56), who were isolated at around 11pm on the 4th, were resuscitated. 221 hours after the accident.
The incident occurred around 6:00 pm on the 26th of last month, when a large amount of earth and sand fell from the first vertical shaft of the zinc mine in Bonghwa, Gyeongsangbuk-do.
In the incident, two people, including Mr. Park, were isolated 190 meters below the first vertical tunnel.
According to the rescue authorities, at the time of the funeral accident, the two were protected from the wind with plastic in a circular space about 30 meters away from the workplace and maintained their body temperature by lighting a bonfire with dry wood.
The two have been transferred to nearby Andong hospital and both are said to be in good enough health to be able to go out with support at the time of the rescue.
