Lori Marie Dougherty, 64, was reported missing on June 12 from her home on the 1600 block of Sandhurst Road near Lynnhurst Road off Sharon Woods Boulevard. There have been no further sightings or information about Dougherty reported by the police. She is described as a white female, 5-foot-7, about 120 pounds, with blonde hair and blue eyes.

Amina Alhaj-Omar, a 25-year-old graduate social work student at Ohio State University, was reported missing on June 10 from Columbus’ North Side. Alhaj-Omar is believed to be experiencing a mental health crisis and is considered endangered. She was last seen at a BP gas station convenience store on the city’s South Side, where she exhibited unusual behavior. Alhaj-Omar is described as a white female, 5-foot-2, about 135 pounds, with brown eyes and black hair. She is believed to be armed with two kitchen knives.

Efforts to locate Alhaj-Omar have included searches in the areas where her vehicle was found, the Olen Corporation’s Columbus plant and quarry, and a Walmart on South High Street. Aerial searches using the Columbus police helicopter unit and Franklin County Sheriff’s Office drones have also been conducted.

Authorities are urging the public to not confront either of these missing women if they are spotted but instead to immediately call 911 or contact the Columbus police at 614-645-2358 or 614-645-4545.

The search for Lori Marie Dougherty and Amina Alhaj-Omar continues, and the Columbus police are actively investigating these cases. Updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
