Leipzig (dpa / sn) – A man killed two women in Leipzig five years ago, divided the corpses and disposed of them like garbage. The now 42-year-old has already been sentenced to life imprisonment for murder and manslaughter. The Leipzig Regional Court also determined the particular gravity of the guilt on Friday. Both acts were committed in a chronologically close connection and with intent to kill, the criminal chamber justified its decision. This means that early release from prison after 15 years is almost impossible.
The court had to deal with the case for the third time on Friday. The man from Mongolia had admitted in the previous trials that in 2016 he strangled a 43-year-old Portuguese woman and a 40-year-old German woman after each previous night spent together within six months. He then cut up the corpses in his apartment and disposed of the parts in the Elster flood basin as well as in the household waste, in the toilet and in a demolished house.
In 2018 he was sentenced to life imprisonment for two murders. In addition, the judges had determined the particular gravity of the guilt. The Federal Court of Justice (BGH) objected to this and referred it back to another chamber of the regional court. A year later she had convicted the man of murder and manslaughter and in turn determined the particular gravity of the guilt. The BGH confirmed the life imprisonment, but again criticized the finding of the particular gravity of the guilt.
The defense announced on Friday that it would examine a revision. The determination of the particular gravity of the guilt is inappropriate, emphasized lawyer Stefan Wirth. Immediately before the first act, the victim threatened to report his client to a rape that did not take place. This must be taken into account to mitigate the penalty. The second victim also told the accused that he wanted to die on the night of the crime. The judges did not follow this in their current verdict. The defendant knew that the expressed wish to die was not meant seriously.
