The French association for the creation of values for fair and sustainable development held its general meeting.
Binta Savadogo and Danièle Delamare Legras are the two carriers of a common project for the education and training of the populations of Burkina Faso in the northern region in Ouahigouya.
This project has been running since 2008 and led to the opening in 2016 of the non-formal basic education center of Tougouzague which now welcomes more than 50 learners in tailoring and 8 learners in two-wheel mechanics.
On March 18, the general assembly of the French association AFCVDED received a visit from the president of the Burkinabé association in the presence of Hélène Giral, deputy mayor.
The two presidents presented the development of this action despite the extremely degraded security context. Terrorists showed up at the center, threatening, driving everyone present out. Staff, parents, volunteers, after reflection decided to continue the action despite these threats.
In addition, the region receives displaced persons from the surrounding villages driven out by these terrorists. These people taken in by families when they have any, or by the High Commission for Refugees in tents are mouths to feed and looking for housing solutions. An additional class was built this year due to the increase in the number of pupils.
The center now benefits from solar electrification thanks to Electricians Without Borders.
France and Burkina are united in this essential fight for the education of peoples, the only solution to the difficulties of the world.
Thanks to the volunteers, donors, who support this action, private and public. It was decided to create a solidarity fund, managed by the two associations, in order to provide the populations who are victims of these degrading situations with food aid and basic necessities.
Anyone can contribute by direct transfer. The two associations guarantee the use of all the funds received for this single purpose.
