The Surinamese police have arrested two women who got into a fight in a bar in Boskamp, where a slipper was used and injuries were caused with a sharp object. And all this because of a drunk man who caused a nuisance at the bar.
According to the Suriname Police Force, the male customer entered the bar around 07:00 and consumed three bottles of beer. After this, he walked out in a drunken state and played loud music from his car. The drunk man was approached by the saleswoman TL, which did not go down well with him.
He yelled at the saleswoman, threw beer on the floor in the bar and wanted his money back. The shopkeeper who was resting woke up because of this and pushed the drunk customer out. On that occasion, the drunk man slapped the shopkeeper firmly in the face and fled.
A female customer HL, who was also in the bar at the time, then interfered in the matter and abused the saleswoman. She became angry and gave HL a few blows in the face with her slipper. HL then grabbed a sharp object and inflicted several body injuries on her opponent TL.
Worse could be prevented by the intervention of a bystander.
The saleswoman had to be treated medically and was then allowed to go home. The police of the Boskamp bureau visited the location for an investigation after a fight was reported. This investigation was then handed over to the Calcutta Police.
The saleswoman TL was detained by the Calcutta police after being summoned on Sunday, May 7, 2023. The customer HL was then tracked down and arrested at her home address by the law enforcement officers. The sharp object was also found and seized.
Both the saleswoman and the customer were brought before and, after coordination with the Public Prosecution Service in Suriname, were detained by the police in connection with mutual abuse. The arrest of the fugitive customer who was drunk is being worked on, reports the Surinamese police.
