According to Rijkswaterstaat, maintenance on the highway cannot wait any longer, because the road is in too bad a condition. The asphalt will be replaced over a length of 4.5 kilometers between Woerden and Reeuwijk. Work is also taking place in other places on the highway. “It is really necessary, this part of the road surface has reached the end of its life,” said a spokesperson.
Delay up to an hour
The highway between junction Oudenrijn and Reeuwijk will be completely closed between next Monday 9 p.m. and Thursday 7 October 5 a.m. Traffic towards The Hague will be diverted via the A2, A9 and A4, and towards Rotterdam via the A2, A27 and A15. Road users must take into account an extra travel time of up to an hour.
The A12 towards Utrecht will be taken care of later. There is less haste.
