Patrik Furka has become the new sports manager of the FK Pohronie Žiar nad Hronom Dolná Ždaňa fortunal league club, replacing Martin Bittengl as his Czech head coach and his assistant will be Lubomír Adler.

Furka started working for the A-team in January and his first task was to supplement the team so that he would be able to adequately fight for a rescue in the spring part of the Fortuna League and engage a pair of coaches. Both come from neighboring Czech Republic.

“We were looking for new faces, so to speak, but they have the qualities and experience we need right now. In the case of Martin Bittengl, he is a young (37 years old), modern and very progressive coach who has worked as technical director of the Vancouver Youth Academy for several years.

Lubomír Adler (48 years old) is again his suitable balance. In the past, he worked as a youth sports director in Baník Ostrava and as a coach, most recently in the Czech III. league in FC Hlučín. I know the system of his work and its results very well. I am convinced that the combination of progressiveness, enthusiasm and experience that will combine in both coaches will be the key to our rescue in the Fortuna League, “ said the new manager for the club’s official website.

Pohronie will now focus on completing the staff: “The criteria we are looking at are the character and mentality of the player. It does not matter how many league starts he has, what his name is today, what is important is the motivation, what he wants to achieve in Pohronie and why he comes here. The goal of the club and not the other way around.

We address players we know and know we still want to achieve something in their careers, and the fight to save Pohronie can help them. We are starting to sign contracts with some of them, and we will publish names in the near future. Some of the players are also coming to the exam and we will select suitable adepts from them. “

Pohronie will start preparations for the spring part on January 10, the first trainings will start five days earlier. “We will start training with a part of the team and the players we want to try will join, we will even play one preparatory match together. Then the preparation will start in full and during it we will strengthen the staff so that we can start the competition in the optimal composition and form, ” dodal Furka.
