Two Unilever (UNVR) Officials Resign, What’s Up?

Jakarta, CNBC IndonesiaIn the midst of the upward trend in the share price of PT Unilever Indonesia Tbk (UNVR) last week, the company reported that two top executives of the issuer would resign.

In the information disclosure published by the issuer, the two high-ranking officials are Veronika Winanti Wahyu Utami who serves as director and Badri Narayanan who is also a director of the company.

Veronika herself resigned as of July 1, 2022 for personal reasons, the information disclosure said. As for Badri, the resignation as of June 15, 2022 was carried out in connection with his appointment to a new position at the Company’s affiliated companies overseas.

According to the disclosure of information, there is no significant impact on the operational activities, legal, financial condition, or business continuity of the Company in which the resignation will be requested for approval at the Annual General Meeting of Shareholders of the Company which will be held on June 15, 2022.

In the past week, UNVR shares have been moving up. After the Lebaran holiday ended, UNVR posted a very impressive performance after its share price flew from Rp 3,890/unit to a level of Rp 4,800/unit or an appreciation of 23.39%.

Even the appreciation of UNVR shares occurred in the midst of the local capital market which was collapsing where the JCI was forced to fall 8.73% a week after trading opened after the Lebaran holiday.

With this appreciation, Unilever investors enjoy a capital gain of IDR 34.7 trillion because UNVR’s market capitalization has managed to increase from IDR 148.4 trillion to IDR 183.1 trillion.
