Two Unair students become FBI speakers for dismantling this case

KOMPA.com – Two student Airlangga University (Unair), namely Eko Mangku Cipto and Harianto Rantesalu who achieved results in the country United States of America.

These two Unair students received appreciation not because they won a competency or a competition.

However, they both got results because they managed to dismantle the DMV Website Scampage case belonging to the US government.

Due to their success, these two Master in Police Studies students at the Graduate School of Airlangga University (Unair) have been officially invited by the US government to the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) of Cleveland, Ohio.

Student Unair succeeded in dismantling the website counterfeiting case

These two students managed to dismantle the DMV Website Scampage case belonging to the US government.

On that occasion, the two explained the investigations and investigative techniques of the two suspects in the case of falsification of the website, which has now been officially arrested by the police.

At first glance, the information, previously there had been a crime case of counterfeiting a website by two Indonesian citizens against the official US government website, had shocked the public there.

This can happen because the two scammers deliberately forged the website with the aim of obtaining personal data of American citizens.

The motive for their crime is suspected to be the misuse of Covid-19 relief funds for American citizens and their sale for personal gain.

Eko said the case being handled involves two institutions, namely the FBI (Federal Bureau of Investigation, ed) and the East Java police with the cyber team Ditreskrimsus (Directorate of Special Criminal Investigation, ed).

“According to the East Java Police Chief, Nico Afinta’s personal data was used to provide Pandemic Unemployment Assistance (PUA) funds or US citizen unemployment relief funds worth USD 2000 per person and also for resale. at USD 100 per person, ”Eko said as quoted on the Unair website on Tuesday (11/10/2022).

In addition, the two Unair students also managed to obtain information relating to the data that the authors were able to obtain through Whatsapp and Telegram conversations for a total of about 30,000 data.
