Two-thirds of French people against the pivotal age

The establishment of a pivotal age below which it will not be possible to leave with a full-rate retirement continues to tighten. Two-thirds of French people (66%) say they are opposed to this point of pension reform, according to an Elabe poll for Opinion made public on Monday and produced online by 1,004 people using the quota method.

The other measures of this reform, however, receive the approval of the majority of respondents : 54% (+2) are in favor of setting up a pension plan by points and 65% (-2) are in favor of the abolition of 42 existing plans, including special plans. In total, more than half (53%, -4) are opposed to the reform in the state.

Regarding the protest movement accompanied by strikes in transport for more than a month, the same proportion (53%, -1) continues to support it when 38% (+1) disapproves of it. For 43% (-3) of those questioned, the government is responsible for the current social conflict and for 23% (+2) it is the unions which are responsible for it. Finally, two-thirds (62%) of those questioned believe that the recent concessions granted to certain categories (police, opera dancers, pilots, etc.) distort the initial project, even if 56% find them justified for specific professions.
