In the case of the murder of a 13-year-old girl in Austria, the police in Vienna have arrested two teenagers. According to the Austrian news agency APA it concerns two Afghan suspects, aged 16 and 18.
The badly beaten body of the girl was found on Saturday in the Vienna district of Donaustadt. Her body was found by bystanders near a tree in a green strip between carriageways. The autopsy revealed that the girl had been strangled. Several bruises were found.
Initially, the identity of the victim was unknown. After police released a description of the victim and her clothes on Sunday, the girl’s parents turned themselves in to police and identified her.
The suspects came into the picture through statements from witnesses and are yet to be questioned. It is not clear whether they were acquaintances with the girl. It is also still unknown whether there was a sexual offense.
