Police arrested two suspects after a stabbing incident in Meppel last night. These are men of 25 years from Meppel, says a police spokesman. The stabbing incident took place around 1 a.m. in the entertainment area on Grote Kerkstraat.

The men got into an argument with another man and that resulted in a fight, the spokesman said. “A 21-year-old man from Steenwijk was injured and was taken to hospital. He suffered a cut injury, possibly caused by glassware.” The police spokesperson would not say whether the violence took place in a catering facility or outside.

The police spoke to witnesses on the spot, but are looking for more people who can tell what exactly happened. She will also look at camera images of the center.
