Two storms sweep over Aubstadt

When Aschaffenburg’s new signing Marcel Schelle, shirt number 80, entered the field with his goalkeeper Ricardo Döbert, he took him in his arms and said: “Come on, it’s just a football game.” That sounded like a lot of respect for hosts TSV Aubstadt Game in the league cup of the Regionalliga Bayern. Then two storms swept over the school stadium, the strong autumn wind and the storming of the guests, so that Döbert did not have to parry a single difficult shot in the entire game.

Four blatant Aubstadt mistakes

His counterpart André Koob got enough opportunities to prove himself as number 1 at 0: 4 (0: 2) of his TSV. A well-deserved guest victory came out, although all four goals were preceded by a blatant mistake by the Aubstadt team and because they were simply the better team. Peppered with great footballers, highly trained individualists, formed into a complete unit by coach Jochen Seitz, the ex-Bundesliga professional.

This got off to an impressive start: ten field players, all felt in motion, with such a speed and a combination security that the locals could only react at first. And after five minutes it was already 0: 1. Until then, the people of Aschaffenburg had whirled, shot, pushed and yelled at each other, although only dialect from the Lower Main could be heard. Her chest could not have been wider, and no wonder that in this scenario, the hosts soon had to make their first mistake.

Baier does not hesitate long

This first of his two goals was scored by Benjamin Baier, whose older brother Daniel (Wolfsburg, Augsburg) and father Jürgen (Cologne, Hanover) were employed in the Bundesliga for many years. He received the ball, did not flare for long and his long-range shot from half-left hit the far right corner.

This hit changed the statics of the game very early on. The men of TSV coach Victor Kleinhenz had no time to recover from this surprise and sort. The Victoria tried to use their superiority like a boxer to the premature knockout of the ailing opponent. Roberto Desch ran into an inaccurate and slack cross pass in front of the TSV penalty area and did it like Baier – 14th minute 0: 2. The speed, the force and the greed for the third goal is impressive.

Too hasty with long balls

Of course, the Aubstadt team also played along, attacked, but did it, as many teams do when they are unsure: Too hasty with long balls, which of course did not often find the desired recipient and the end was usually before the last quarter of the pitch.

The guests set, slowed or increased the pace as they wanted. Anyone who may have seen the Aubstädter on the right track after the games against Würzburg and Fürth II was mistaken. On the other hand, the Viktoria in this condition is also one of the three or four absolute top teams in the league, with other means and other goals.

Before half-time, both teams lost an important support through injury: the guests their top scorer Clay Verkaj, the hosts their top Christopher Bieber. It had temporarily become very physical, nicky, and gruff. Kleinhenz could not change position-related, sent Patrick Hofmann to the front and brought Andre Rumpel to the right wing.

At halftime, the question arose as to who would keep up this high pace and who had lived beyond their means. When Elias Niesigk (60th) was served after another loss of the ball, he stifled the last hopes for a comeback for the Aubstadt team as against Fürth.

Morality remains unbroken

Victor Kleinhenz’s troops definitely deserve praise, even if they neither scored a goal nor had a chance to score: their morale remained unbroken. She never really lost her thread or hung on the ropes. She tried again and again, now more about combinations, the orderly structure of the game. However, it was never enough for fast switching. The guests were too compact for that, especially with such a secure lead, like a seasoned regional league team with higher ambitions.

Punctual final whistle

Like Benjamin Baier, not only a real tenth in terms of shirt number, who scored 0: 4 (86th), was symptomatic of the whole game. He stole the ball from the opponent’s attempt to build up on the center circle, took Egson Gashi with him for a one-two and once again gave André Koob no chance when he entered the penalty area by himself. The very good, because unspectacular, leading referee Roman Potemkin had an understanding and did not allow a second to play.

While Victor Kleinhenz summed up: “It was a deserved victory for the guests. Unfortunately, we didn’t get access and couldn’t create any scoring opportunities. That was a character test for the whole group. Now it means wiping your mouth and going to Schweinfurt on Tuesday. ”What he did not address: Even more important is next Saturday, the game against Illertissen.
