Two songs from Johnny Depp’s new album are inspired by Amber Heard trial

After the defamation trial, Johnny Depp recorded a new album with Jeff Beck that includes new songs about his ex-wife Amber Heard.

Good friends Beck and Depp collaborated on the new album after Beck unexpectedly invited Depp to join him on his recent UK tour.

After his defamation trial against his ex-wife Heard, the actor toured with British musician Beck, with whom he co-wrote two songs for the upcoming album titled 18.

In one of the songs, Depp can be heard singing, “I think you’ve said enough for one motherf***ing night.”

This is A Song for Miss Hedy Lamarr, the album’s lead single, was allegedly written by Depp. ‘You’re sitting there like a dog with a seven-year itch … If I had a dime, it wouldn’t reach your hand,’ he sings on another track, called Sad Motherf**kin’ Parade.

Beck and Depp’s collaboration

On July 15, the album was made available. Only two of the songs on the album are originals by Depp; the rest are covers of songs by Lou Reed, The Velvet Undergroundand The Beach Boys.

The two have previously collaborated on music; in 2020, they released a cover of John Lennon’s “Isolation.” They also performed covers of What’s Going On by Marvin Gaye, Let It Be Me by The Everly BrothersLittle Wing by Jimi Hendrixand The Death and Resurrection Show by Killing Joke.

The lyrics for the songs have caused issue with Amber Heard’s fans and have been very vocal about it on social media, bashing the actor for trying to profit on such a delicate matter. The thing is that Depp never acknowledges Heard directly or by name, so it’s all speculation.
